Pectin Side Effects

Pectin, CAS# 9000-69-5,  E number E440, used as food emulsifiers. Pectin is accepted as safe food emulsifier in many food products. Pectin is a structural heteropolysaccharide manufactured through extraction from citrus fruits, available as Free flowing pale brown powder; Slight, free from off-flavors; Slight, free from off-note.

General Side Effects

  1. When taken by mouth in combination with guar gum and insoluble fiber, pectin can cause diarrhea, gas, and loose stools. 2. Inhalation of tara gum powder can cause respiratory problem.

Suggested Dosage

As Pectin is widely known as safe, there is no limit on dosage of intake. However, we still recommend consumers to consult professionals before using large quantity of Pectin for long period.
