Maltitol, CAS number 585-88-6, E number E965, used as food sweetener, Maltitol is accepted as safe food sweetener in many food products. Maltitol is a sugar alcohol manufactured through hydrogenation of maltose obtained from starch, available as White crystal.
General Side Effects
- Maltitol can cause stomach and abdominal pain when taken more than 40g per serving. 2. Maltitol poses lexative effect when ingusted in large quantity. 3. Maltitol can cause excessive gas and flatulence.
Suggested Dosage
As Maltitol is widely known as safe, there is no limit on dosage of intake. However, we still recommend consumers to consult professionals before using large quantity of Maltitol for long period.
